StableDuel is Proud to Welcome Hawthorne Race Course
StableDuel’s players are the coolest, most sophisticated, most urban and definitely the most fun in the game; so, it only makes sense that we offer games in one of the coolest, most sophisticated, most fun cities in the world, right? Hello, Chicago and a huge welcome aboard to Hawthorne Race Course!
Founded in 1891, Hawthorne Race Course is the 4th oldest racetrack in the United States, the oldest sporting venue in Illinois and the oldest continually run family-owned racetrack in North America. The racetrack has a one-mile dirt oval and a seven-furlong turf course. But don’t be fooled! If size is your thing, Hawthorne boats a home stretch spanning 1,320 feet, which makes it the third longest of any dirt track in the US — only the home stretches at Los Alamitos Race Course (1,380 feet) and Fair Grounds Race Course (1,346 feet) are longer.
But, we know our players want to go deep, so what does that mean? Because the stretch is so long, the turns are unusually tight. On the dirt oval, the turns are just 1,136 feet long — and on the turf course, 806 feet — the tightest turns of any turf course in the US.
Now that we’ve established that size matters, who are we watching? At the most recent meet, the top-5 jockeys were:
