Heartened $1000 10/1
Facing winners for the first time, Todd Pletcher trainee has run 4 times and never been off the board – but took 4 races from September to break its maiden. Fit – yes – ready to beat winners? That’s your question.
Everdoit $50 30/1
Florida-bred colt trained by Kevin Rice lost its rider last time out in the Sam F. Davis (at Tampa) which robs us of knowing the horse’s true talent in a graded stakes race. 5 race record, with a first (MSW) and a second (AOC) but top of its class in its workouts at their home track of Tampa.
Give Me Liberty $50 30/1
This colt has yet to win and is shipping in from Louisiana with starts at Churchill Downs and Oaklawn Park. Last two starts finished second in both at this similar distance but just hasn’t gotten the win yet. Much to prove here.
Good Money $500 15/1
Many would call this guy “the Other Chad Brown” which you should always be on the lookout. Bonus for the $500 SD value. One race. One win. Same track with Irad in the irons. Could be the best value pick in the race….could be.
Domestic Product $9,400 8/5
2nd morning line favorite with Tyler Gaffalione abord, went from breaking his maiden straight to graded stakes, not much in the G2 at Aqueduct in December where FOY winner Dornoch romped but answered with a 2nd place finish in the G3 Holy Bull last month at Gulfstream. If you wipe the G2 Ransom off, this horse could be worth the high price.
Catire Vizcaya $50 30/1
Saratoga maiden winner 2nd time out, followed by a sloppy race, and finish, at Delaware where he finished 10th place. His prep for this race was an AOC at Tampa where he finished mid pack 10 lengths behind the winner. Big what if for a big value.
No More Time $9,600 7/5
Your highest price of the race, ridden by Javier Castellano, 2 time winner including the G3 Sam F. Davis last month over the same track and distance. Work tab makes him look ready for his next challenge but it’ll cost you.
Crazy Mason $750 12/1
Most raced horse of the bunch with 7 starts. Finished 6th in the Sam F Davis which was a bit disappointing after his lead ups showed showed consistent improvement. Has a shot.
Grand Mo The First $750 12/1
Florida based who has proven he can travel with a strong record after four starts. Top ranked SD Speed horse but still has yet to win a stakes race. Samy Camacho takes the reins for trainer Victor Barboza Jr.
Sturdy $3000 8/1
Weaver trainee, Sturdy is another that has yet to break his maiden. Has one race this year finishing third in a MSW at Gulfstream Feb 23rd – this also acted as his last workout for Saturday’s race. Swing for the fences they say!
